Upper McKenzie River

The Upper McKenzie River offers some of the best whitewater fishing and rafting in the country. McKenzie driftboats are used for fishing (regulations specify catch-and-release only), and inflatable rafts for whitewater tours.  The McKenzie River Trail is internationally recognized for its incredible beauty; it’s a favorite for hikers and mountain bikers as it travels through old-growth forest and next to crystal-blue water.

Many local resorts, cottages and cabins are available for rent, and several restaurants are in the vicinity.  A Forest Service Ranger Station is close by  for information on the local environment and activities.
