Historic Columbia River Highway

Because much of it is inside the National Scenic Act area, the Historic Columbia River Highway is a great story of preservation of a scenic, cultural, natural and recreational resource.

This incredibly scenic road twists and rolls past waterfalls, lookouts, lakes and rock formations, letting visitors feel what it was like to travel a state-of-the-art highway in the 1920s, when this was a true transportation breakthrough.
