Galice Resort

The Galice Resort is unique in that it is situated on the banks of the world-famous Rogue River while also adjacent to the Siskiyou National Forest.  The resort offers rafting, fishing and hiking in an environment that is flush with wildlife amid a natural landscape. It is also a central starting point for both the upper river and the lower Wild and Scenic section.  Initially populated by Native American Indians who mined for precious stones, this area is still explored by miners looking for the riches hidden in the hills and valleys.  The resort, which has been owned and operated by the Thomason family for nearly 30 years, provides a family-friendly environment for vacationers who want to escape everyday life and immerse themselves in nature’s wonders.

Galice Resort is part of the Oregon Scenic Byway program.  It is on the main road to Gold Beach on the Oregon Coast.   The resort was built in 1945  and contiues to help and support the agencies in a cooperative manner to keep the area as it was originally created and to be enjoyed by all.  Galice Resort has also been proud to sponsor river cleanups and donates annually to the Boys and Girls’ Club of Rogue Valley, providing a raft trip for 125 kids.
