Sparks Lake

Sparks Lake is just one of the beautiful high-mountain lakes on the Cascade Lakes Highway. The views are simply spectacular. Sparks Lake is a great lake for canoeing and kayaking; there is a small boat launch and a few campsites.  Don’t forget your camera, and be sure to take a walk on the Ray Atkeson Memorial Trail along the shore. You’ll have views of South Sister and Broken Top mountains, lava outcroppings, pines and wildlife. The trail is a 2.3-mile loop that takes about an hour; two-tenths of a mile of the trail is paved and wheelchair-accessible.  Don’t miss this stop as you travel along the Cascade Lakes Highway.

  • Seasonally accessible (May to October)
