South Umpqua Falls
South Umpqua Falls is culturally important to the heritage of the Cow Creek Tribe of Umpqua Band of Indians, and is the place they celebrate annually during their July pow-wow. In the late winter and early spring the falls are a perfect place to just “be” and listen to the water resonate its power and volume. The falls is a favorite place for local South Douglas County families and youths to play in the summertime. The South Umpqua Falls and campground are within the Umpqua National Forest and have been designated as an alcohol-free area for safety and clean river sustainability, and “Leave No Trace” practices are evident.
