Oneonta Falls

Lower Oneonta Falls lies within the narrow Oneonta Gorge and behind a large debris dam from the floods in the mid-1990s you must climb over. Once you reach the falls and the pool you can enjoy a nice dip in a fairly private location, as not many people go here. The intimacy provided by the narrow walls makes for a great hike through the creek.

Spending time in here gives you a real appreciation of nature and the geological events that created it. You are walking through a cutout of history carved by the creek, so you can see the change in geological events. Furthermore, you can physically see affects that weather and other such factors have on shaping the Gorge.
