North Umpqua River National Recreation Trail

The North Umpqua Trail sits near the southern terminus of the mighty Cascade Range and features dramatic Pacific Northwest mountain-bike riding.

If you’re looking for a trail that offers a little bit of everything from fast, pristine trail to quick, steep ascents (plus a few longer ones), plus river crossings, old-growth forests, mountain views, solitude, majestic river views, and the ability to choose various distances, check this trail out. The trail totals 77 miles — almost entirely single-track — although the last 10 miles or so are located in wilderness areas, which means no bikes are allowed.
