Imagine an entire downtown listed on the National Register of Historic Places and you have found Centralia.  Restored early-1900s buildings now house City Hall, an antiques mall, and a railroad depot in this century-old district where stagecoaches once trod. Tower Avenue is lined with antique shops, a landmark hotel, historic theater, eateries plus a weekly farmers’ market.

The historic district of Centrailia includes 67 commercial buildings in 12 square blocks, bounded by Center on the north, Walnut on the south, the railroad tracks on the east, and Pearl Street on the West, including the Centralia Post Office on Locust. Many of the businesses in this area are owned by local historians and have photos and paintings depicting the history of the area.
