Forest Learning Center

Learn about the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens and the resulting recovery and reforestation efforts. Walk through a life-size replica of a pre-blast forest; then watch actual eruption footage while standing inside a re-created blast zone. Sit in a helicopter cockpit for a virtual tour of the volcano. Let the kids climb around the volcano playground.

Mount St. Helens Forest Learning Center is an educational experience for anyone who plans to visit. Families will get to gain knowledge of the devastation and recovery associated with the eruption, as well as general conservation of forest resources. It’s open to the public from May to October, free of charge so everyone can enjoy.
