Fern Ridge Wine and Wings Festival

This festival celebrates International Migratory Bird Day.  Hosts include Secret House Winery, Cascades Raptor Center, the Audubon Society, Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife, Fern Ridge Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  Guest speakers help visitors learn about the natural environment.  The day includes a great mix of birding, wines, wetlands, “Paddling for Predators” and more.  All of these occur around or on Fern Ridge Reservoir, a Corps of Engineers lake encompassing over 12,000 acres. Extensive wetlands provide unique habitat for a variety of wildlife and wintering waterfowl.  It’s a great event for local community and visitors to learn about the beauty and wonder of Willamette Valley and what is being done to protect and preserve it.
