Brickhaven Bed and Breakfast
The beauty that surround Brickhaven, as well as the site itself, is unbelievable. So close to Portland, yet a world away. Overlooking the beautiful Columbia River Gorge looking both east and west, each room of this home boasts a view. Built by commercial cartoonist Ernie Hager, this whimsical yet architecturally significant home is like none seen before. Just a few of the unique features of this home: it was built from recycled bricks and timber from blown-down barns retrieved from local burn piles, and broken chimney flue liners were used for the floors. It also has mosaic tile baths, a water fountain in the hallway, inlaid tile artwork in the walls and more. Eclectic doesn’t begin to describe all the features of this home.
